A quick ride down the American River will bring you right into the heart of downtown Sacramento. A city rich in history, you’ll see several historic points of interest such as the Tower Bridge, the California State Capitol and Old Town Sacramento. GOLD RUSH TOUR #4:

  Approximately 48 minutes (62 miles) USD 480.00

The California Gold Rush of the late 1840s brought an influx of over 300,000 people from all over the world. Our tour will take you over the city of Auburn, where gold was discovered in the spring of 1848. Though not the first official location of discovered gold in California, this area is a mere five miles from where gold was first spotted in Coloma. You’ll take a ride over Old Town Auburn, which is home to several beautifully restored mid-19thcentury buildings that look almost exactly the way they did over 150 years ago. The tour will continue into the American River canyon where you can imagine panning for gold on the shores, just like the prospectors of 1849. Spanning the canyon is the Foresthill Bridge, which is one of the highest bridges in the US. You’ll follow the American River as it opens up into Folsom Lake and the Folsom Dam. As we fly over the dam, you’ll get a glimpse of the famous Folsom State Prison, best known for hosting Johnny Cash back in 1968.
